Kinesiologists
Joanne Morgan, BHK
Joanne has been an exercise therapist for the past 8 years. She works with a very diverse clientele including elite and recreational athletes, ICBC claimants, and most recently people living with cancer. Joanne further demonstrates her versatility by training clients whose ages span from 6 to 89 years of age. Her educational background includes a degree in Human Kinetics from the University of British Columbia. Joanne is also a certified trainer with the American Council of Exercise and a certified cancer exercise specialist. Joanne’s passion for balanced and multi faceted health comes from her astounding success rate in helping clients reach their rehabilitation and fitness goals.

Kevin Hunter, B.Sc., Kinesiology
Kevin has been in the exercise and rehabilitation industry for the past 11 years with a primary focus over the past 7 years on exercise therapy.
His other passion includes sports specific training (rugby, hockey, soccer, golf,and tennis) and generalized strength and conditioning. While completing his Kinesiology degree from the University of Victoria Kevin worked with patients living with Parkinson’s disease and in a stroke and cardiac recovery program. He is a registered Kinesiologist, a certified B.C.R.P.A. personal trainer and a Certified Fitness Consultant from the Canadian Society of Exercise Physiologists.
Kevin’s platform for exercise is based on full body integrated functioning, core coordination and training balance in all structures of the body.

Sarah Weller, B.AppSci., Human Movement Studies
Sarah completed her degree at the University of Queensland (Australia) in 2006 and has since worked with a diverse clientele including high performance athletes (Soccer, Australian Football, Golf, Rowing & Rugby), injury rehabilitation, chronic disease and cancer patients, cardiac rehabilitation and corporate health care.
Sarah joined the Personal Best team in August 2011 after relocating to Vancouver from Australia. She is passionate about improving physical function through movement and exercise therapy and she enjoys helping her clients reduce pain and discomfort and improve their quality of life.
Sarah is a Registered Kinesiologist (BCAK) and Accredited Exercise Physiologist (ESSA - Aus). In addition she is a Cancer Exercise Specialist and works with clients at all stages of treatment in one-on-one and group based settings.

Physiotherapists
Becky Maranda, B.H.K, B.Sc.PT
Becky graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1999 with both a B.Sc. in Physical Therapy and Kinesiology. After graduation she spent two years in Montreal working in private clinics with a sports emphasis. One clinic was the official provider of physio for Les Ballet Jazz de Montreal and Les Grands Ballets Canadiens de Montreal. In 2001 she and her husband moved to Vancouver where she worked at Allan McGavin Sports Medicine at UBC until the birth of her twins in 2008. Becky has taken a number of post graduate courses throughout the years, finding one of her areas of passion to be the lumbar/pelvis and hip area. Becky has treated a variety of patients from the age of 5-95 and ex-NHL players to couch potatoes, and she strongly believes in the balance between manual therapy and exercise for her clients. She truly enjoys the one-on-one time with her patients and helping them achieve their goals. When not working or chasing her 4 kids around you can find Becky running in the trails at UBC.

Thomas Tran, B.Sc. PT
Thomas Tran has been a physiotherapist working in sports medicine for over eleven years. After graduating from the University of Western Ontario physiotherapy program in 1999, he returned to his hometown of Kanata, Ontario (a suburb of Ottawa). This is when he began coaching volleyball. He also began giving back by volunteering at community events ranging from little league soccer to men’s club rugby. In 2001, he moved to Vancouver to tackle new challenges and immerse himself in the vibrant active lifestyle of the westcoast. He was fortunate enough to be able to work with the University of British Columbia men’s volleyball team as both an assistant coach and physiotherapist for six years. All the while, he began to work at the renowned Allan McGavin Sports Medicine Centre where he continued for the past 9 years. From these experiences, he has developed a specialty in creating sound movement principles for all levels of athletes. He is passionate about giving others the tools to prevent and recovery from injuries both acute and chronic. He delivers practical and feasible strategies to maximizing ones physical tools. He has recently branched out on his own and we are excited to have access to his expertise.

Steffi Rogge, M.Sc., Education & Sports Science
Steffi Rogge graduated in spring 2008 from the university of Goettingen, Germany, with a M.Sc. in Education for Economics and Sports Science. After her graduation she travelled to Vancouver and fell in love with a Canadian so she decided to move to Vancouver in June 2009. Steffi is a certified BCRPA Personal Trainer, Weight Trainer and Nordic Walking Instructor. In addition she is a Cancer Exercise Specialist and her focus is helping cancer patients to regain, maintain and improve strength and overall well being before, during and after their treatments. She works one-on-one with clients and also leads exercise classes for cancer survivors.
